Wedding Guide: Top 5 Tips

Clear Vision

The biggest and most important part of wedding planning is to have a clear vision of your dream wedding. There are many ways to achieve staying organized with your inspirations, ideas, and overall planning. I personally found Pinterest to be the most effective and convenient option to create my 'vision board'.  I started off with numerous boards, each for a specific purpose. I had one for every category like decorations, hair styles, makeup, jewelry, outfit ideas, etc. Then I pinned pictures that inspired me and things that resembled what I wanted my wedding to look like. As the planning process continued, it was easier for me to show vendors a visual of exactly what I wanted or at least something that was similar. This helped eliminate any confusion, frustration, or second guessing.

Quality vs Quantity

It is crucial to know which is important where. Many aspects of the wedding will fall entirely on quality or quantity, and the rest somewhere in-between. For instance, renting chairs for the event is going to come down to quantity, where as choosing a florist will be heavily weighted on quality. The in-between is ultimately for prioritizing and staying within a budget.

Non-Experimental Phase

Ladies, this is NOT the time to experiment with hair, makeup, and outfit(s). Stick with hair and makeup that enhances your facial features and makes you feel beautiful. And same goes for wedding outfit(s), choose silhouettes that makes you feel the most confident and comfortable but also flatters your body shape.

Be Picky

This is YOUR day. You are in the process of making your dream wedding into a reality. Stick to your vision, be precise and specific of what you want and need for that day. But avoid becoming BRIDEZILLA!

Budget, the one thing that keeps us in check and helps us prioritize. Research is key to get the most bang for your buck. This where all of the other tips come into play on deciding what your budget should look like for you dream wedding and what to spend where during that day.

Homemade Ice Cream Sandwiches

Blackberry Vanilla Coconut  Ice Cream Sandwiches!

- 15-20 Fresh Blackberries

- 1 tablespoon of Sugar

- 5.3 OZ Vanilla Coconut Greek Yogurt

- 2- 3 tablespoons of Lite Cool Whip

- 8 Graham Crackers

This is a super simple and easy recipe (inspired by Andreaschoice). Best part about this sandwich recipe, you can customize it to your own liking...choose your own yogurt flavors, add your favorite fruits, and most importantly have fun making them!  For people with a serious sweet-tooth like myself, this is definitely a healthier option. Eat it at anytime of the day, for breakfast, as a snack, and of course dessert!

 So let's get started...

1. Cut the blackberries in half.

2. Place the cut up blackberries into a sauce pan, and add sugar.

3. Let the blackberries and sugar sit on low heat and cook until the sauce is done.

3. In an empty bowl, mix the vanilla coconut greek yogurt and a couple of tablespoons of light cool whip together.

4. Once the blackberry sauce is done and cooled off, add to the mixture of vanilla coconut greek yogurt and light cool whip and mix well.

5. Place the graham crackers on a tray covered with foil.

6. Start adding the "ice cream" mixture on top of the graham crackers.

7. Add another graham cracker on top to create a sandwich.

8. Place the blackberry vanilla coconut ice cream sandwiches in the freezer.

9. Let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour, cut the sandwiches into sections and place in a container.

10. Serve and Enjoy!

(I personally like my sandwiches to be a little melted, so I take them out of the freezer about 15-20 minutes before eating.)
